We are so happy to show you the progress we are making on our first Hometown Christmas project. I say progress because, of course, we aren’t finished with it. But I think the finished project will be worth the wait!
This is a Block of the Month-type project. However, we have realized that many of you that like the BOM quilts, don’t like waiting an entire year to get the quilt finished. That is why when you order this quilt, you will receive everything you need at one time and can go at your own pace. Another bonus of getting everything together is the shipping cost is much cheaper. Instead of shipping charges every month, it is considerable cheaper to ship all together.
The Hometown Christmas fabric won’t be here until late spring, and we are planning on shipping this kit in early June (earlier, depending on the exact time we receive the fabric). But, we need to know if you would like to participate so we can order enough fabric for everyone who wants a kit. We may have a few extras in June, but the only way to guarantee a kit is by preordering. The deadline to pre-order is February 24th.
As with most of our preordered quilt kits, you pay 1/2 of the cost of the kit now and 1/2 later.
So enough with the boring stuff- let’s get to the quilt! There are 12 blocks. Each includes a little piecing, a little applique, and a little embroidery. Even though there are three techniques in each block, they are super fun, easy and quick to put together. Here are some photos of what we have finished so far.
There will be a couple of places that can be customized in the quilt. Here is a close-up of where you can customize your hometown.
I so wish we could show you the entire thing- but we need to give you a chance to reserve your kit it before we can’t order the fabric any longer. We will continue to show you updates as we get it finished, but I guess you are going to just have to trust me. It will be adorable!
