We’re Seeing Red!

In Quilting by Lisa Burnett

Red.  We all love that color around here.  It’s my niece’s favorite color.  She has a room full of red things.  We use red in about 80% of the fabric collections we design (that’s not a scientific fact, just my guess!).  And now, red is the center of our newest contest.

But there is a catch.  This is an Instagram contest.  Now I know not all of you are on Instagram.  If you are not, I seriously encourage you to join the fun.  You will not only be able to participate in this contest, you can follow what is happening with all your quilting friends, see new fabric and patterns and share all of your projects with your friends.  It’s so quick and easy, and really quite addicting.  All you need is a smart phone and the Instagram app.  If that isn’t available to you, you can follow along on your computer by checking out our Instagram account here.

Now to the contest.  We want to see everything you love that is red.  It could be your favorite red and white quilt, an old t-shirt or a bowl full of strawberries.  Here are the details:

  • Post photos of your favorite red things.  You can enter as many photos as you would like- in fact, you have a greater chance of winning with more photos, as the winner is chosen randomly.
  • Make sure you follow us! @sweetwaterfabric
  • Tag the photo with @sweetwaterfabric and #sweetwaterred
  • You have a week to post- we will end the contest on next Sunday.
  • The winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to use on anything in our store!

Here are images of some of our favorite red things to inspire you.

Follow our Instagram feed to see all our red images this week.

And here is some exciting news.  We love lots of colors, not just red.  That’s why we are having a contest each week for the next month!  While you are taking photos of everything red, be thinking about next week when we feature aqua/turquoise (which will be my favorite week because that is my favorite color!).

Speaking of red, we were invited by Fat Quarter Shop and some of our favorite people, Barb and Mary from Me and My Sister Designs to participate in a fun project. They have come out with the cutest little templates to make these adorable flowers.

We made ours from the red in our new Boat House collection, but check out what Barb and Mary did on their blog here.

One more thing, today is the last day of our Christmas in July event.  If you are one of those early people who are super organized and prepared for Christmas, you may want to check out our sale.  Have a great Monday!
