All In A Row!

In Quilting by Lisa Burnett

Wow- it has been a very long time since we were involved in a Blog Hop.  Well, it’s actually a social media hop, as you can find this on Facebook, Instagram, all the important places!  And since it has been such a long time since our last hop, it’s kind of exciting to know we will have some new visitors here.

We were asked to be a part of a very fun book.  It is the Moda All Stars “All In  A Row”, published by Martingale.

The Moda designers were asked to design a row.  That was pretty simple  Here is our row.  We called it “Bloom”.

Looks just like our style, right?  We used our favorite collection, Feed Company.

Now comes the fun part.  We were paired with another Moda designer to create her block with our fabric.  And then she does the same with our block.  Our partners are Alma & Barb from Blackbird Designs.  I’m sure you are all familiar with Alma and Barb.  Their fabric is beautiful and their style is recognizable.  But no one would confuse Sweetwater with Blackbird Designs.  They are totally different styles, which makes this so fun.  We can’t wait to see our row in her fabric.

Before we show you their row in our fabric, here is their original row.

Well, we didn’t exactly get the whole row done, but we can show you the blocks!

It’s so funny how a different fabric combination can make the design look so different. So make sure to visit Alma and Barb to see our row in different fabric.  Here is the list of all the hop participants:

January 18: Brenda Riddle & moi.

January 19: Corey Yoder & Janet Clare

January 20: Me & My Sister (aka Barb & Mary) & Barbara Brackman

January 21: Pat Sloan & Edyta Sitar

January 22: Camille Roskelley & Kathy Schmitz

January 23: Sweetwater (Karla, Lisa & Susan ) & Blackbird Designs (Alma & Barb)

January 24:  Anne Sutton & Laurie Simpson

January 25: Lisa Bongean & Joanna Figueroa

January 26: Betsy Chutchian & Jen Kingwell

January 27: Kate Spain & Sandy Gervais

January 28: Kaari Meng & Lynne Hagemeir

This book is so much fun- there are so many rows that you can make a totally unique quilt by mixing and matching the rows you love.  You can purchase the book here.  Another great thing about the book is the proceeds go to an amazing charity No Kid Hungry.

Now for the fun part.  Contests!  We have a few books to give away- so make sure to leave a comment here on our blog.  You can comment on anything you want- your favorite fabric collection, how much you want to win the book, what row you want to make or your favorite football team.  Yes, your favorite team.  You will have a better chance of winning if you pick my team.  Just kidding. But you do realize there is a big game tomorrow, right?  Okay, back to quilting.   We will choose a winner sometime next week.

There is another contest, too:

Beginning on February 1st, there will be an All In A Row Quilt-along.  It will run through March 15th and there will be prizes!  For every row you complete, you’ll receive one entry.  Complete six rows – you get six entries.  Easy, right?  More details will be coming – details will be on Martingale’s All In A Row Quilt-Along Facebook page.

Make sure to follow the hashtag – #allinarowquiltalong to see all the entrants.

Thank you for stopping by.  It’s time for you all to get rowing along!!!
