Hello….Christmas?!!!

In Quilting by Lisa Burnett

I know.  Just earlier this week I told you I put all my Christmas decorations away and we are on to Valentine’s Day (by the way, thank you so much all the Valentine’s Day Box orders- it sold out in the first 24 hours).  Anyway, after just two days, Christmas is back!

As all quilters know, we don’t ever really put away our Christmas projects.  It’s a year round adventure to prepare for Christmas.  For store owners, it starts in January.  January is the month that all the new Christmas lines are shown to the stores and the time that store owners make their decisions about what Christmas will look like next year.  Fortunately, we have a brand spankin’ new Christmas line that is a part of that process.  Introducing….Merry Starts Here.  Here is a sneak peek.

We love this collection so much.  I can’t decide which is my favorite print.  It might be these adorable crosses.

But I really love the distressed dots.  Especially in black.

Then there is the buffalo plaid on the bias.  Pretty sure I’ve never seen a buffalo plaid I didn’t like.

Then again, I don’t know if there is a text print I don’t like either!

Oh, and then there is the knit print.  This one looks so cozy.  It could be my favorite too!

We hope you love Merry Starts Here as much as we do.  Here’s the hard part.  It doesn’t arrive until May.  Which generally means we will get it May 31.  But the good news is that it still gives you plenty of time to prepare for Christmas 2019!

Now for my most favorite part.  The quilts.  The first one we are showing is pretty special to us.  We have been working on this design for about a year now.  After our popular “Hometown Christmas” quilt, it was a tough act to follow.  It has been one of our most popular quilt patterns ever.  I think the popularity comes from the mixture of piecing, applique and embroidery.  And….the ability to personalize the quilt with a name.  So we wanted to take the best parts of the Hometown Christmas quilt, but also make it totally different.  I love the result.  Honestly, I think I even love it more than the Hometown quilt.  Yikes.  That’s like choosing a favorite child.

As I mentioned before, we have been working on the design for a long time.  We haven’t been working on sewing the quilt for that long, as we just recently received the sample fabric.  So….it is a work in progress.  But we couldn’t wait to show you!  Say hello to our new Christmas quilt, named for collection- Merry Starts Here Quilt.

Trust me, the digital version doesn’t do the quilt justice.  Here are some of the finished blocks.

This block is my most favorite.  I love the little applique circles.

These buttons are so darn cute!  Of course, we won’t add them until after quilting, but I just had to put them in the photo so you could see how cute they were!

This is the block that you will be able to customize with any name you choose.

The alternating pieced blocks are stunning.  They make the quilt have a scrappy feeling without looking cluttered.

So we have a few more blocks to go.  Then putting it all together.  Then off to the quilter.  Then binding.  But…. hopefully we gave you a good preview.  We have opened pre-orders for the quilt today.  You can find that here.  Please keep in mind that the deadline to order a kit is January 29th.  We can’t guarantee you a kit after that date.

We also have another quilt for this collection.  We call this one Snow Tracks.

I have no idea how we are going to actually get this one finished.  But trust me, we will get this one finished because it is going in my house next December.  I promise.  You can also pre-order the kit for this quilt here.

And one more thing.  If you missed out on the Hometown Christmas Quilt Kit last year, there is still hope.  We are making that kit available one more time in our new Merry Starts Here fabric collection.  Here is the digital version:

Here are some photos of the actual quilt, made in one of our earlier Christmas collections.

You can find the pre-order here.

Remember, the fabric won’t arrive here until sometime in May.  If you order a kit, we say that we are shipping in June, just to be on the safe side.  Actually, we ship just as soon as we get the fabric and as fast as we can cut kits.  So it may arrive to you earlier than June.

Whew.  That was a whole lot of new.  Hope you enjoy it.  And have a great day!
