Day #9

In Quilting by Lisa Burnett

We are about to take a Thanksgiving break- but we wanted to get in this cutie before we start worrying about the pumpkin pie.  And I have to say, so far, this project is my favorite of this year’s 12 Days of Christmas.  If you missed our Holly’s Tree Farm BOM, or even if you made it (or are still making it), you might love this too.  It’s a mini version!

So if you tackled the big quilt, this one will be a cinch!  Quick, easy, and we didn’t even embroider this one.  Although you could if you wanted to.  We just wanted to make this one faster.  Here is a look at the difference in block sizes, comparing the original to the mini.

It’s just too cute!  Of course, the embroidery creates amazing texture and dimension in the original.  But this is a mini!  It’s just supposed to be cute! The best part is, it is quick enough that you have plenty of time to make and give it as a gift.  Just as in the original, one of the blocks can be personalized.  The “Sweetwater” will be replaced with a name or word, and you can choose to have the year printed or not.

The kit includes the fabric, binding, backing and iron-on transfers.  Additional transfers can be purchased separately.  I think they would be adorable on napkins for your holiday table!  You can find everything here or on Etsy here.

We wish you all a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving.  We have 3 more projects- see you on Monday!
