Buttons, Buttons, Buttons

In Contests, Free Things, Life by Lisa Burnett

I will get to the button part later.  How was your labor day?  I enjoyed my time cleaning my house.  I should have taken before and after pictures but there is no way I could show you the before pictures!!  I only got a few rooms done because I vowed to clean everything in that one certain room before I moved to the next.  It is so nice to have closets, drawers, etc all cleaned out.  The big question now is how long will it last??  My mom on the other hand spent her time creating things like this cute little button picture –

She has agreed to give it away so all you have to do is post a comment about what you did during your labor day vacation?  If you can't wait to see if won and want one for yourself here it is -

You will need:

1. Four 10" stretcher bars

2. 15"x15" canvas duck cloth and cotton batting

3. Various sizes of buttons

4. Staple gun

Assemble your stretcher bars.  Cut canvas and batting 15"x15". Zig zag edges together.  Trace around a 5" long x 3 1/2" wide heart.  Topstitch through the canvas and batting on the traced line.  Sew buttons within the heart shape.  Place canvas over stretcher bar frame and bring edges around to the back and staple in place.

Here is a snapshot of the back –
